American Legion Auxiliary

Service Not Self - Supporting Veterans, Military, and their Families

About the American Legion Auxiliary

Founded in 1919, the American Legion Auxiliary is one of the nation's most prominent supporters of veterans, military, and their families. The Auxiliary is made up of nearly 1 million members from all walks of life who volunteer countless hours and raise millions of dollars for charitable causes.

While originally organized to assist The American Legion, the Auxiliary has achieved its own unique identity while working side-by-side with the veterans who belong to The American Legion. Like the Legion, the Auxiliary's interests have broadened to encompass the entire community.

Our Mission

In the spirit of Service Not Self, the mission of the American Legion Auxiliary is to support The American Legion and honor the sacrifice of those who serve by enhancing the lives of our veterans, military, and their families, both at home and abroad.

For God and Country, we advocate for veterans, educate our citizens, mentor youth, and promote patriotism, good citizenship, peace, and security.
